2000 Château Doisy-Védrines - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac (6/25/2009)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 2 days –
NOSE: light botrytis spice; marmalade; slight hint of petrol. This smells better than it tastes.
BODY: orange - golden yellow color; full bodied.
TASTE: apricot; butterscotch; a very slight cardboard note makes me wonder if this is just a tad corked; a touch of smoke on the short-medium finish. A tasty wine for sure, but NOT an impressive Sauternes.
