There are not many mentions of this property on WB, although Robert was enthused about the 1985 some years ago. But I loved the 2000 Ch. Olivier ‘rouge’ [Pessac Leognan] over a couple of nights. It’s medium bodied, elegant, graceful with fine Pessac secondary character on the bouquet - saddle, fall leaves, tobacco. On the tongue I find it texturally resolved, still fresh acidity, and showing fruit on the red side of the spectrum. Sediment was light, cork is normal/perfect, and this EP purchase seems to have been French tax stamped. Stephen Brooks (book pictured) doesn’t comment of the 2000 specifically but I think his overall view of the house offering a lighter delicate style is fair. I liked this more than the professionals/CT kommentariat did, but I’m enjoying the Graves traits more today than I did when I was younger.
A- on my card, and although better on the first day, it was a case where patience paid off. I don’t think I’ve bought this in any other vintage since, unfortunately
