TN: 2000 Ballot-Millot & Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières

  • 2000 Ballot-Millot & Fils Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru (10/26/2016)
Good colour and a very fresh bottle. The nose has some citrus blossom, white peach, mandarin and a lactic quality to it. In the mouth it has a gentle creaminess and excellent volume and depth. The usual Perrieres spine is rigid and minerally and it is a wine of terrific shape and posture. Drinking at the top of its game. I love '00 whites when they’re on.

cool. Don’t often see this wine.

Great note Jeremy - I was introduced to Ballot-Millot a while back at a Paulee event/tasting — loved the wines back then so I purchased some. Actually had the '07 Charmes and Perrieres this past weekend and both were in tip top shape… Love the mandarin creaminess part of your description - spot on for their Perrieres.

Interesting Jeremy, thanks.

We listed this domaine for a few vintages around 2004-7 but they’ve since fallen from the radar a bit. Nice to hear the wines can go the distance.
