Double decanted then decanted for an hour a couple hours before drinking it.
A terrific old school nose. It's meaty, savory, and herbal with dark berry fruit, leather and iodine. The American oak has integrated nicely. Full bodied and ripe yet it is beautifully balanced with an expansive palate presence. This has terrific depth and breadth delivered with a sense of power with poise. It's savory, meaty and herbal with a dill back note that adds rather than distracts. This is no wallflower, more like a heavyweight fighter who can tear it up on the dance floor. There is a lot going on, but what impresses most is that everything comes together into a greater whole. Quite long on the back end. Delicious, and in this format, for me, it's drinking at peak with time in hand. Bravo 94 (94 points)
