It’s been 8 years since I tasted this Vino Nobile. bottle. lots of sandy sediment discarded, then 2 hours in decanter. Surprisingly dark color with bricking. This bottle was so pleasurable that it was nearly drained with starters.The '97 Asinone has a lovely nose with a just hint of barnyard. complex, mostly developed fruit with sottobosco, smooth tannins. Lovely, outstanding bottle in every way and the best showing of Asinone that I recall.
