    Showed well from the beginning. More elegant than I remember from earlier bottles. Decanted. Menthol/tar and forest floor on the nose with a bit of funk that blew off pretty fast. Dark fruit and anise on the palate with fine tannins. Impressive finish. Enjoyable and delicious bottle.

Thanks for the notes. Cortese is probably underrated.

I have had a few of these over the last year or so. They all showed a little funk initially as you mentioned. Some bottles were better than others, but overall they were pretty enjoyable. I am a fan of the producer.
