TN: 1996 Claude Dugat Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru

Opened this tonight with spaghetti.

Great nose. Very earthy and red fruits/sweet cherries/nice rose petal scents as well.
Nice mix of secondary flavors and sweet fruit. Excellent grip and length. Ths went very well with the food but is just as tasty on its own.

Very nice wine. I would not wait longer since I really like where it is now but it is in no danger of fading at all. Really good stuff.

Hi Jeff, I have had the best luck with Dugat’s 1996 wines. I think they are awesome. I have had Gevrey C. Lavaux St Jacques, and Griottes. From your good note, which is very consistent with his other wines from this year, it looks like I should have bought some of the GC 1er.
