1995 J. J. Prum Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese
Fabulous example of fine German Riesling at its peak of maturity. Everything is exactly where it should be. The fruit has taken on a burnished, spicy edge, there is endless minerality, and the smoky/oily elements dance around the wine like so many Teutonic angels on the head of a very precise pin. The only flaw is the bottle size. Magnums are needed.
Agreed. An absolutely spectacular, epic wine. Thanks again.
Guess that means I should hold off on my 95 WS Auslese.
I bet it would be compelling. Lots of life left though. I am planning to open my lone '95 WS Auslese next year.
Yep Prum 95s are great, just bought five more GKs.
