Coincidence. Opened this last night and this morning I saw the recent Burgundy thread. This may not be the epitmoe of Burgundy but it is really good and should continue to drink well for many years. In any event, I bought 6 of these from Acker for less than $300 total. Cellartracker average is about $80ish per bottle.

1995 Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (1/18/2010)
This is an outstanding wine in my 92-94 point range. Amazing how vibrant fresh and young this is for being almost 15 years old. Initially bright red turning brickish as the night went on. Stunning complexity on the almost painfully intense nose. Perfume and rose petals give way to red currant, strawberry and raspberry which give way to leather, earth and mocha. The development would not quit. There is equally impressive development on the palate, with zinging acidity, cinnamon, clove and earth. The finish is clean and pure and has nice length. The nits here are that the acidity may actually be too much at times, and there is a tinge of bitterness on the back end of the palate. The finish could be better. But those are minor nits. This is the second of six bottles I’ve consumed. Both were excellent. Overall, this is a very very good wine that should provide many more years of enjoyment. (93 pts.)
