1993 Penfolds Shiraz Bin 28 Kalimna - Australia, South Australia (2/16/2011)
color of an advanced, but not over-the-hill wine. Deep dark garnet. Nose has some burned caramel, a hinto of reduction, black cherries and black plums. Palate has the black cherries and plum with some well-worn leather, soy sauce, hints of vanilla and cedar. This is nicely balanced with fully resolved tannins and an evenly aligned acidity that keeps it lively. A medium bodied wine with some class and structure. The finish brings back the reduction just a wee-bit. All in all a very nice $15 WineBid find last month. Glad I have a few more. (89 pts.)
