- 1990 Penfolds Grange - Australia, South Australia (12/25/2025)
Deep, rich, luscious and powerful. A core of of jammy blueberry and raspberry fruits. Some scorched earth, desiccated coconut, vanilla and menthol too. Just a hint of leathery development. Great mouthfeel and authority. Perfectly ripe tannins. Complex and incredibly well balanced and length to burn. A great Grange.

Thx Jeremy, was this a Xmas bottle?
I am sitting on 3 bottles bought on release. This sounds good but also sounds like it has plenty of room to grow and develop?

Hi Brodie,
It was a Christmas bottle and a bottle for my dad (born on Christmas day). It is right in the zone now with plenty left in the tank.
kind regards
Jeremy
Have been fortunate to have had a couple bottles of this in recent years. It is a great wine and having had it on the last occasion alongside some Granges from the 80s from good cellars, I would suggest that in another 5yrs or so it could be even better.
Happy birthday Leon!
