- 1990 Château Prieuré-Lichine - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (05.10.2024)
Stood upright for 10 days. Perfect cork, great fill. In a great place and still going strong. Great nose and full and lovely on the palate. Soft tannins and still good fruit. A complete package.

A lovely producer whom I always think of when it comes to well-known yet underrated producers in Bordeaux. Has also maintained attractive pricing on a relative basis.
Thanks for the note.

Great note on the Pontet Canet there. I guess 1990 was before their big turnaround (1994 vintage I think?).
It’s been a while, but I remember Prieure-Lichine 1990 as a good Bordeaux with lovely fruit (a bit plummy), medium depth and decent length, but not very complex, lacking elegance, but a satisfying drink with food

I recall that most 83 and 78/79s Prieuré-Lichine have been solid drinkers, having last had one from this property maybe 5+ years ago.
The 2005 of this Chateau is wonderful.
