Consumed today at my favorite bistro in Baltimore:
1988 Guigal Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde
The fully mature Guigal Cote Rotie, from an outstanding vintage in the appellation, exhibits a medium ruby color, a complex perfume of red fruits, flowers, spice box, and smoke. Silky on the palate with tannins fully integrated, it shows outstanding depth, sweet, ripe fruit, excellent balance and a lengthy finish. This tasty effort is first class and should continue to drink well for a few more years. my score: 92 points

Nice! I loved the old Guigal BetB, the style seemed to progressively change with the '95’s…my last vintage was the '99. But how I loved those '83’s-91’s…
