TN: 1987 A. et P. de Villaine Aligoté Bouzeron

  • 1987 A. et P. de Villaine Aligoté Bouzeron - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Bouzeron (4/20/2024)
Remarkably healthy colour. The nose has some white mushroom development, along with fresh lemon and smoky mineral. The palate is fresh, waxy and linear and has plenty of salt and grapefruit cut. It is not deep or long, but thoroughly engaging and refreshing.

Wow, cool note. Not surprised these age well, young they are so pithy and almost Muscadet-esque they can age on acid alone.

I drink them way too young though.

Yes Kris. I haven’t had a lot of experience with older Aligoté, but the ones I have had have been excellent and they seem to age as well as Chardonnay if the cork does its job.
