A fresh and complex wine, showing notes of truffle, honey, tarte Tatin and marmalade. The palate is dry, slightly way and possesses tangy acidity and a clean finish.
Jeremy,
I was looking at some old notes of our 2015 annual over the top lunch. There were some pretty good wines there, but my highest score was for the Marcus Bredif Vouvray 1921.
“ 1921 Mark Bredif Vouvray
A producer I have heard of but don’t know. Another extraordinary wine; unbelievably fresh with a distinctive orange marmalade and apricot flavors. 98”
I took part in a vertical of Marc Bredif Vouvrays a year or so ago, and the while wines like the '89 & '90 were lusciously sweet, the '82 & '83 were drier than a dingo’s bum in the desert! Fascinating wines, yet almost challenging at the same time.
We visited their cellars about 20 years ago and brought back a few bottles. The 1947 was terrific, similar to your note Jeremy but with some sweetness still on the palate.
