    A nose that has some earthy development, leather and spice. The palate is so vital and alive. There's a core of raspberry fruit and a strand of licorice weaving through the flavour profile. It is full and voluminous, deep and long. It has minerally acidity and floral nuance. Drinking at the top of its game.

Never had the MR 1980, but several other 80 CdP - Fortia, Clos des Papes, V.Telegraph, Chante Perdrix … all good to very good ( not great), the vintage is much better there than in Bordeaux
