Bottle was in beautiful shape and the cork was practically flawless, to the point where I ALMOST tried to open it with my usual corkscrew……but then I reminded myself that there’s no reason to be a hero and grabbed my Durand. This pours a really lovely cloudy red/crimson color with only some slight bricking. On the nose it’s everything you want in an aged Napa cab. Spicy red fruits and florals with a hint of tobacco. On the palate it does not disappoint with a medium-bodied mouth-full of cherries, baking spice, autumn leaves, and a bit of iron on the long finish. Plenty of acidity and still some rustic tannins hinting at more years of prime drinking for well stored bottles (although there’s only 5 in CT including my bottle….so this note probably doesn’t help many people, ha!). Old school Napa goodness. You can’t beat it!

Sweet…that cork looks perfect, and the color of that wine is spectacular for a Napa Cab that old!
