TN: 1970 Marqués de Cáceres Rioja Reserva (Spain, La Rioja, Rioja)

Bottles from a case purchased on release and stored in temperature and humidity controlled conditions. The bottles were slow ox’ed for about 3 hours before service.

Reddish brown in color. Good acid with some fruit coming out. Well past maturity but still drinking well. It’s definitely a food wine at this point. The wine was paired with a duck and mushroom paella and it was an excellent match. Drink up, but handle them right for a good experience. (89 pts.)
