1964 Chateau Soutard - St Emilion
I thought a mature Bordeaux red would pair nicely with the luncheon dishes below, so I chose this bottle. The alcohol level on the label states “12 - 13%”. The owner on the label says “Ctesse M. des Ligneris”. Stood up for four hours before opening. A deep strawberry red body with a light red rim. A delicate nose of dried red fruits and soft tobacco. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, the fully mature tannins gently caress my tongue. Subtle yet satisfying, this wine paired well with a Moroccan tagine dish and a Russian salad.
