    Vts fill. Cork is obviously old, but in fine condition and not soaked. Violent attack of berries and dried fruit at first, some cinnamon and cloves, even caramel, some maderization, nose is intriguing and complex (difficult to peg this as Bordeaux); Similar in the mouth with oriental spice, a bit tired fruit (but still fruit), decent length, some tannins left, good acidity, moderate concentration – but body is a bit fuller than the concentration suggests, after a while also with a complex finish. Still going strong after 5 hours. (94 pts.)

Thanks for posting the note. I’ve drunk the '34 Talbot multiple times, and find it to be a fascinating wine. If served it blind, I would never guess the vintage. The concentration of color and fruit is incredible. And more fresh than the GL you describe.

I have been lucky enough to drink 3 bottles of the 34 latour. 34 was always regarded as a brutally tannic vintage that produced wines for your grandchildren so it’s no surprise they’re still drinking well after 80 years!
