TN - '02 B. Clair Savigny Les Beaune les Dominodes

It’s great to drink a wine from 100 yrs old vines that doesn’t break the wallet.

’02 B. Clair Savigny Les Beaune les Dominodes-
On the nose, marinated cherries are followed by complex earthy nuances. This is quite vibrant with more earthen cherries and spectacular depth and length amidst zingy acidity. This is a great example of wine that is intense but still quite elegant. I love the honesty of Savigny. This is approachable now but probably best in about 5+ years.

Kevin,

as you know Savigny is often overlooked but there are some great wines being made there. There is a producer that I cant remember as of now…but Cornutt will have to help me on this, but makes great wines, especially for the $

Jean-Marc Pavelot

Michael,
Pavelot is great. I also like Simon Bize (uses whole clusters). In nearby Pernand-Vergelesses there is also Chandon de Brialles. Especially in this economy, these are a real value.

Pavelot’s 2005’s are stunning…
