The whispers are true… MOWE Reserve

Had heard rumblings of a reserve bottling from Dustin and Renee over the past several months.

We had the pleasure of visiting with them late last week and can confirm that the bottle does indeed exist. There is a single barrel of 23 that became the reserve, as it stood out among the rest and demanded to be bottled alone.

If youve met them, then you know how genuine and down to earth they are. And it’s also clear how much love and respect Dustin has for Renee. Dustin refers to Renee as the heart of the project and the heart of his family. With this, combined with the single barrel, Dustin has named it as an homage to Renee. The bottle is called Corazon de Oro, which translates to Heart of Gold and is a phrase implying an individuals exceedingly generous and genuine nature.

We had the pleasure of tasting this bottle and boy oh boy will it knock your socks right the ef off! If youre lucky enough to be allocated this wine do not hesitate to take the plunge. Dustin said they will plan to release the wine on Mothers Day 2026.

We tasted with @D_Mowe and Renee last month and got to talking about the creation of the label because obviously behind every great wine is a great label. I said that the label (which is also a Renee creation) was perfect and I didn’t know how it could be better. Then Dustin pulled one of these out and I had to quickly change my opinion. I’m sure the wine is phenomenal. Jealous you got to taste!

Awesome. The wine was really next level. That was also my first time with the 23’s which were effing bonkers too. There was a discussion of another development at MOWE that is also super exciting… Theyre crushing it right now. Really pumped for them and what theyre doing

How were the ‘23 cabs different, if you can recall?

I will have a double magnum please…

1 barrel is 300 bottles? So not much!

Joking aside, the wine was a knockout version of an already amazing wine. It went to 11 for sure. The wine had the amazing graphite, wet stone minerality, pencil shaving component that I look for in my favorite Napa cabernets. Reminded me a lot of MAC or Crane. The bottling was majority of our groups favorite wine of the trip.

I have a three pack purchased at release sitting in wine storage, but grabbed another bottle from ACME, and it arrived the other day. I’m fighting the urge to rip the cork, but so far have held strong. @D_Mowe what say you? At this point, would that be like driving a Ferrari while stuck in first gear?

anyone know when these are shipping to the East Coast?

Pretty sure you had choice of 3 ship windows at purchase

Ha! Love it and thanks for the support. Indeed for at least a few more months it’s Ferrari stuck in first gear but for those of you that cannot stand the urge to go ahead and pop one make sure you do the wine justice and give it plenty of air… for tastings we do a double decant morning of and then open an hour before showing and still with that, the best sip is the last.

Patients will be rewarded with the 23’s.

For anyone who chose a November ship date (which there were 2) all orders have shipped so far except for a handful of Florida orders.

Wines are ready to ship so if you chose our dec ship date and want it sooner, just send us a note.

Cheers!!

Dustin

My patients should love it - but I am inclined to not share! Seriously though, I will pop one of these sooner than later - thanks for the advice on the double decant. As for the patience in the long haul, that’s what the magnum is for in say 2040! Recommendations on how to treat the 2022 for now?

So, will the reserve be available to people that have purchased both releases? I’d love to get my hands on some when they become available!
