The Truth about Velcorin (DMDC)

Hello All !

First post for davey.

Some of you know me, some of you have heard of me…some of you hate me…lol

With the passing of my dear friend Kris Curran I thought it was about time the truth…that XXXX labs tried to hide about one of the most widely used agents in wine…that you no NOTHING about…,because XXXX labs and the wineries that abuse it want it that way.

Anyhoo, I thought I’d hear from all of you about this topic before I gave you my speech…that many have heard adnauseum.

I will give you some tasty facts though :

Kris was sued with a multumillion dollar defamation suir from Scott labs because she and Bruno were just telling the truth about the practice.

When they tried to put " No DMDC used" on their wine labels it was rejected by the govt because they
“were making health claims”

DMDC is an organic compound used in many products all over the world as a preservative…like OJ and soda pop… But only in wine does it produce Methanol…alegedly in harmless amounts.

The Osha guidelines state you should not drink any wine that has been “velcorinized” for at least 24 hrs…

or you may die.

Methanol is really bad for you.

A $125 bottle of XXX Cab made by XXXX XXxX (when he owned it before Foley purchased the rights the label) was sent to ETS labs a few years back( Same lab that Adam Lee used for the XXXXX RESIDUAL Sugar tests in his lawsuit defense with XXXXXXXXXXXX) and this then ‘Cult’ Napa Cab came back with more than 2x the legal limit of Methanol.

A winery is not requiredtodisclose even if you ask if they utilize the process.

Velcorin saves time, money and protects the investment of really expensuve wines.,… yet XXXXX (edited…the largest winery in the world) chose not to use it at all after careful study.

I was forbidden to speak about Velcorin if I was to appear on a XXXXX area wine themed radio statiom…because…they might loose advertisements. from some big local sponsors.

funny note…,.XXXXX labs just awarded me a winemaking scholatship…or rather the founders foundation did ( evidently he was a genuinly great human…,Robert Alexander Scott…I have been told by EVERYONE who new him.

Also a funny tidiit since your just meeting me. , i did a year in Jail back in 2011 ( thank God I missed that harvest) and got a Felony for stealing a chef coat from Thomas Keller my Employer at the French Laundry in Napq…

ok kids, nice to meet you - as Larry wouldcsay the sXXX has been stirred…go have fun with it.

btw…No beef with MXXX XXxX…GREAT GUY, just happened to be his wine that was tested. You want to Pony up a full bottle of 100 point napa cabs and pay for the tests…my theory is at least 35% have excessive methanol standards from formulaic winemaking to appease parker. pick super duper ripe, un filtered unfined…etc etc. its people who hot thd wome more than omce or ignore the scott lab giidelines…and since no winery owns their own machine…well - no accountability and no libability but the ownsers sure to sleep better knowong their investment in $30k a ton grapes is safe because is been nuked to hell that no microbial infection could remain…

Oh my…i guess i did give you my 2 pence after all…
sue me…my bank account is currently in the negative…as is its way. Cant harm my career more than I already have.

Not sure why this was blocked - folks should understand what Velcorin is and how widespread it’s use is. Would love to see the original post to see why it was flagged - perhaps how it was worded?

Cheers

There’s no earthly reason why you shouldn’t be able to discuss a common food additive. It’s pretty crazy to look at the hazardous chemical tags and OSHA labeling for Velcorin - easily view-able on the Wikipedia page for Dimethyl Dicarbonate - and consider it goes in your food. On the other hand both the FDA and the EU (generally tougher on food additives than the FDA which is pretty lax) have approved it, and the claim is that it breaks down rapidly and becomes totally non-toxic.

For wine, beyond toxicity there would be a question of whether the sterilization effect impacts any flavor or scent properties.

First time on here, but I thought this was a free thinking - think tank. lol. BANNED. Justvlike I wasnt allowed to address Velcorin when I was about to go on that Paso wine centric Radio station a few years back.

They were worried they loose their biggest sponsors

It’s smart to know what you were talking about before mentioning it here, I did not block it, the post was flagged by another member, and whenever a post is flagged, it is hidden until a moderator can deal with it

As I mentioned this was my very first post, except for some ghost writing for Bobby.

I appreciate the protocols and the explanation - Im not that smart and not that prudent with my posting. Sure it wont be my first block post if I ever post on here again.

Good to know the rules of engagement.

Cheers,

Definitely, and particularly so before going around and spewing nonsense here and on Facebook. I find it ironic that your post is all about revealing the truth when you did quite the opposite in this regard.

To the person who reported it, perhaps you want to discuss the matter in this thread rather than just report it for spam

it said the person who flagged the post was a user name Todd. When I clicked on the link it said Todds account no longer existed, Before I even came back to this page I deleted my facebook posts out of respect…,and allI stated there was EXACTLY what happened Todd.

maybe you should provide a users guide to new members in the future,

yeah, this is my last post here…I see what your about
Enjoy your Berserker Kingdom…

Clearly you do not, but if you wish to come in and drop a bomb and leave, that’s totally up to you. The reason it showed that a person named Todd reported the post is because I am the admin of this site, when any other member reports a post, it protects said member from being revealed publicly
