I buy about 75% of my Champagne from Envoyer, but it’s not an exclusive relationship. Here are some other retailers with whom I failed to exercise self control:
JJ Buckley:
2002 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Nicolas-François Billecart
NV Billecart-Salmon Champagne Brut Rosé (.375 and 1.5’s)
2002 Bollinger Champagne R.D. Extra Brut
NV Krug Champagne Brut Rosé (.375’s)
2006 Taittinger Champagne Comtes de Champagne Rosé Brut
VinBrucke - Don Echev @ WB
2006 Philipponnat Champagne Brut Clos des Goisses
Garagiste (don’t buy much there, but now and then I see something I like)
2015 Roses de Jeanne / Cédric Bouchard Champagne Blanc de Noirs Côte de Val Vilaine
Zachys (Thanks to Charlie Fu for alerting me to the $50 credit for $250 spent Amex promotion)
2006 Vilmart & Cie Champagne Premier Cru Coeur de Cuvée
2007 Philipponnat Champagne Brut Clos des Goisses
Other than Dethune and Coutier, every purchase involves small numbers. I’m also hoarding a respectable (for me) number of Krug and Comte, but those will never be huge numbers. I’m buying little else than Champagne these days.
My thought too. Plus, Milton Road Trading Co has sent me numerous emails recently and although I have not purchased from them yet, their offers are attractively priced and have a broad range of decent champagnes. Anyone have any dealings with them and if so, all OK?
Aside from some bottles that I might grab from time to time at Hi-Times, which is a 1/2 hr from my house (and where Veronica Castro works, who really knows Champagne well), I stick with Envoyer. 15 mins to get there from here, no shipping. For the amount of $$$ I sink into the P & Ls of UPS and Fed-Ex every year for my still wines, it’s a relief on my budget to avoid shipping for my bubbles. We’re fortunate to have both stores right here in the south OC.
