I have done a search on existing threads, but can’t find any on the pleasures of receiving and opening new OWC. I did find some on what to do with them when they are empty.
In case there is anyone else who shares my pleasure , I had this delivered recently.
Ahh, the joy of seeing the contents for the first time.

I am not fan. I remember splinters and difficult nails.

Better than picking up statically charged microscopic pieces of styrofoam?

You gotta karate chop them open. Channel Mr. Miyagi’s power.
My love for wooden cases is purely practical.
I’m happy to suffer splinters etc so I can jam more wine in the offsite unit.

I just put the box in the fire until all that’s left are the bottles.

Love the way they look and economize space on some of the shelves in my cellar - always exciting to take delivery of an OWC

Indeed. There’s an added gravitas to the product they carry. Hard to describe.
“hard” and “carry” are words that would feature in my response too

I wish all OWC were sliders like this.

Just something I noticed; your subject line is redundant. That’s clearly a lot of joy you have for OWCs.
The best OWCs come in OWCs for the OWCs
I like the OWC cozies that now exist, for protecting the OWCs.
I put both the whole words and abbreviation in to make it searchable both ways.
