The Inn at Little Washington

GF and I are having dinner for my birthday in November at the Inn, just seeing if anyone has stayed anywhere around there as far as hotel, AirB&B etc. Staying at the Inn would be nice but it’s a touch up there in price for me.
Also any must dos, sees are well appreciated;)
Cheers

Personally I wouldn’t eat there if I wasn’t staying there.

Or at least had a concrete plan of getting where you need to be afterwards. Very rural (my wife grew up there, an uncle and my father-in-law were both with the Rappahannock P.D. locataed just across the street from the Inn). Not a huge number of choices but there are a fair amount of quaint smaller inns and B&B in nearby Sperryville and on the road in-between. Would contact the Inn about reliable Uber contacts, maybe get their opinion on other Inns as I’m sure they have this question all the time.

Thanks for the reply’s, for sure a remote spot and I figured there would be some with experience in visiting there. Looking forward to the dinner no question. Sounding like driving arrangements will have to be made prior.

I grew up not far from there and still visit often to see the folks.

Have had dinner at the Inn twice and found it lovely, expensive, and unique. I have not stayed overnight there.

Agree with prior comment to contact the inn, their service is really great.

There are several air bnbs w/n a 5 mins drive of the Inn that are super charming. That would be my first choice if you’re alright to drive a little after dinner. There will be no traffic, but you’ll have to keep an eye out for deer.

If not, there are smaller more affordable, but still charming small hotels in the town of little Washington that are all walking distance from the Inn. I find they have a similar vibe, old school VA charm, so would optimize around price and whatever room size you need.

If you can sort the driving thing, then I would recommend seeing if the place above the coffee house in Sperryville is open. it’s central for the area.

The cottage at Sharp Rock vineyard is lovely, but is out of the way. I try to stay there when visiting. One of the best hikes in the area, Old Rag, is right there. http://sharprockvineyards.com/

You’ll be there post leaves, but it’s still a great time of year to visit.

Highly recommend you: drive the skyline drive, do at least 1 hike, visit Pen druid brewery (good place to enjoy afternoon view), visit central coffee roasters.

oh, and for dinner, Walking in the garden before dinner is a great aperitif. There is a small garden at the inn and their farm/garden/thing is just across the street.

Gavin thanks for all the recommendations, I’ll be sure to do all of the above. We ended up finding a B&B in town, apparently providing some Early Mountain Wine on arrival :).
I heard that Old Rag is supposed to be one of the prettiest hikes in the state (according to my bud who went to med school at UVA)
Stoked to see that there’s some stuff to do in town. We are trying to be active the day before the dinner and during the day off.
Again appreciate the help.

Inn also has a more casual cafe called Patty O’s Cafe. Prices are also very reasonable compared to Inn’s dinner pricing.

Food there is great. I thought the croissants from the bakery side were okay.
