#feinherbstudy
I asked Johannes Selbach. I just have to re-find the email.
Remember the 1998 Spätlese Halbtrocken?
The 2001 M-C Mußbacher Eselshaut Auslese out of 375 last month was also drinking fantastically well.
What a great swansong vintage for HGS.
How could I forget Stein 1900?? Also such a grest wine.
Also seems AJ ADAM In Der Sengerei fits the bill:
Feinherb - 22g sugar - 10% alcohol - Grand Cru - $60
Any tasting notes?
Had this last of my bottles in August. It was great. Better than a bottle about 7-8 years ago. Amazing texture to go with the aromatics.

Had these side by side this weekend - the last two are feinherb.
All very high-tension, precise wines. Tho can’t say I would tell them apart unprompted.

I actually just had a Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt Scharzhofberger Kabinett feinherb 2014 the other night, so it’s funny to see this story appear here now!
The bottle was by the way absolutely singing…
One of the masters of this style is Markus Molitor. His 2015 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese *** White Cap for example, or the Version from Wehlener Sonnenuhr.
White cap would be dry. As I am sure you know Green is Feinherb. But yes I agree that Markus does really well with the style.
You are right. But the White Caps are often not very dry, so I thought they fit here.
Yes, the green ones are absolutely great - but to be honest, all his wines are!
I have a bottle of Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese *** 2018 (Green) from him that I cannot wait to try…
Yup, Molitor *** Green Capsule Zeltinger Sonnenuhr is the most profound feinherb i have evert tried, from a few different vintages.
Loersch Fels-Terrassen feinherb is crazy good too.
I import both.
@Robert_Panzer Are you coming to the dinner next week!
For those in the NYC area Ilis one of my favorite restaurants in NYC is having a Markus Molitor dinner. Markus Molitor Jr and Daniel Kiowski will be in attendance.
Of course I will be there and will be bringing extra wine from cellar.
Nope.
Utah.
@Robert_Dentice, did you post notes from this somewhere? I’ve only had a couple of the wines, but have been impressed each time.
