A levee along the Green River near Garagiste just failed. Hopefully they don’t get flooded out.
I know that area pretty well. I ride the bike path along that levee all summer long. Based on where the Seattle Times indicates the breach was, Garagiste should be fine. They are at least a couple miles to the east, and probably on at least a little higher ground…
Order just “shipped” (picking up tomorrow) with following mysteries identified:
Deal of the Year #2 - Washington State Single Vineyard Mystery Red Wine 750ml (Washington State)
2019 Klein Vineyard (assuming Substance ‘Bx’ Bordeaux Blend?)
Mystery Bonanza #2 - Reserve Red Wine Mystery 750ml (earth)
Quinta do Popa Reserve Red 2021
Mystery Bonanza Wine #4: Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon
2019 Foolhardy ‘FH’ Cabernet Sauvignon
Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (95pts for $19+)
2019 Substance Powerline Vineyard
Not ecstatic, but pleased overall with the results from a value standpoint.
Anyone find that there’s no longer a way to schedule shipments and pickups via the website? Doesn’t seem to matter what browser I use.
I see it.
It’s on the dashboard. There’s a link right under the place where it tells you how many bottles are available to ship.
Do you have any bottles ready to ship?
Also, there is a link at the bottom of their email offers to schedule a shipment.
Thanks Tony - turns out I had an ‘update your soon expiring payment method’ reminder that rendered my dashboard inoperable. Once I updated it, everything re-appeared. Pretty annoying that it made it such that I couldn’t schedule already paid for items, but their website isn’t exactly cutting edge.
More mysteries revealed:
9/16 Brunello di Montalcino Mystery
2020 Fiorita
8/29 Napa Valley Cabernet
2021 Amulet
8/12 Willamette Valley Estate Pinot
2018 Andante
3/1 Washington State Cabernet
2021 Delille Four Flags
12/7/24 2018 Nappy Valley Estate Cabernet
2018 Dos Lagos Atlas Peak
Anyone know what the current Snapshot: 100 points offer is? Seems like it was offered previously.
Not sure if these were revealed but…
Mystery Bonanza! Wine #15 – 2021 Chianti Classico!
Castello di Meleto Chianti Classico
2021 Barolo - A Monumental Vintage!
2021 Schiavenza Barolo Serralunga
The Schiavenza was a great deal and keeps my vertical going of this wine bought as Garagiste “mysteries”. The Chianti seems like a $20-25 wine so the $13 was a great price. Haven’t had that one yet.
My gut says todays 2021 CCR Riserva is Felsina and for sub-$20…if I knew it was it would be a case buy, so this is where mystery may work against volume buys.
That was my guess as well. Went in for 3.
Same. Grabbed 3.
Got 6 of the CCR. Could be Felsina or could be almost anything else (5 90pt notes just means 5 Cellartracker notes). But generally Garagiste Italian mysteries are a good/sometimes great deal, so worth it.
Any thoughts on today’s Pinot mystery? Did some searching but nothing conclusive from today’s hints for me yet. I saw a few names but who knows. Anyone with access to Vinous able to garner some more info? TIA.
Quintessential “could be anything” offer. I’ll occasionally buy a garagiste mystery, but this is an easy pass for me.
He doesn’t say the winery is famous or venerable, just the vineyard, so, idk, I’m imagining something like a lesser known winery’s Bien Nacido, akin to the Cordant K&L has been blowing out for $20.
But who knows. I imagine it’s a nice wine for sub $30, but it’s not like we are starved of opportunities to buy discount domestic pinot at the moment.
I saw something pop up suggestive of a Gary Farrell PN from Bien Nacido in my searches. I was looking to fill out a case with Garagiste thought maybe this would be a nice end cap. But wholly aggree not starved for options out there currently.
Certainly could be! And that label has also been frequently seen recently on lastbottle, K&L, etc.
Anyone heard anything about the 10/10 Brunello? Not sure how mid January counts as a “late fall arrival”
Just shows “prearrived” for me.
