I really should buy more Cru Bojo. Every time I have anything from Beaujolais I think “why don’t I drink more of this”. Had a few bottles of Domaine Anita last night, and damn thats good.
My wife loves Pinot and Cru Bojo scratches that itch without setting my wallet on fire. Plus, its just delicious.
I’m exactly the same. Which is why I just bought a case of Cru Bojo a couple of weeks ago. Not from Garagiste though.
2021 Red Mountain Red Wine Mystery?
Was thinking Cadence Coda or Auclair Left Blend but not seeing a 93 pt review for either?
Not near enough clues in the offer for me to guess with even a modest likelihood of accuracy. That being said, I wouldn’t think it’s very likely that this one would be Coda. I haven’t seen Ben’s wines show up around discount web sites very often. Full Pull offers quite a few of his wines. If he was going to close out some Coda overstock, I’d guess that he’s do it with FP via a Redacted offer. Also, Cadence recently participated in the BerserkerDay frenzy. This year, they didn’t have any special Coda-focused offers (if I remember correctly, they did a Coda case offer their first year – which of course, I jumped on…).
I someone put a gun to my head, and made me guess – I’d guess Kiona. Garagiste has offered a number of their wines in the past. But I would have little confidence in that guess…
Michael
No clue. I thought about it for 3 minutes, but ultimately not that interesting given the lack of info/questionable discount.
Exactly, a $30-40 wine for $20? Love red mountain, but hard pass
More like $25 by the time it gets to my door. Easy pass.
Just found out that it’s 2018 Dos Lagos Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak. Any thoughts? I am not familiar with this outfit.
I got it too, but haven’t tried it. It is highly rated, so here’s hoping!
Couple of mysteries that just shipped for me:
2018 Champagne Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Cote des Blancs Mystery 750ml
Champagne Philippe Lancelot Blanc de Blanc Grand Cru “Cramant” 2018
Barolo Mystery 750ml (Piedmont) from 7/2024
Schiavenza 2020 Serralunga
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Barolo mystery from 1/2025 is the same producer. It’s kinda frequent flier in the Garagiste world. Which does not bother me, at $28 it’s a solid deal.
Any ideas on this afternoon‘s mystery Bordeaux offer?
I don’t trust Garagiste Bordeaux blurbs, not even the slightest.
A while back they offered a Bdx blanc from “a very famous chateau” and it was so famous only entries in Cellartracker were from the Garagiste offer…
I’m guessing some often-deeply-discounted St Emilion.
A few recent mystery wines. While certainly burned on several mystery wines over the years I’ve waded back into the pool recently. We have enjoyed the wines from Winderlea in the past and the Chaleur Blanc reviews seem promising so overall feeling pretty good.
Willamette Valley Single Vineyard Pinot Noir Mystery ($30) - 2022 Winderlea Shea
2021 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir ($30) - 2021 Winderlea Dundee Hills
White Wine Mystery ($17) - 2022 DeLille Chaleur Blanc
Damn, that’s a phenomenal deal.
This has been a recurring Garagiste mystery and always a very good deal.
I’ve hit on that Chaleur Blanc Mystery for the third time. After the first time I was pretty sure what I was getting.
Mystery whites from Jon are usually, but not always, good. He has slipped in flabby, over-oaked Chardonnays from Washington. Fortunately, my employees seem to like them well enough.
I never risk a Mystery or un-reviewed red wine from France that Garagiste offers. Jon has an affinity for brett.
I pretty much only buy reds and have been fairly happy with the red mystery offerings from Garagiste. Just got Delille Four Flags and that Dos Lagos Atlas Peak Cab looks darn good!
Curious was this very recent $9 WA red will be……
Yea, I’m also curious about that. Maybe one of the Gramercy Lower East bottles? Not sure the high scores would line up, but they are in the 13.5% range and the discount would be appropriate.
I’m expecting a rare varietal that is hard to sell like Cinsault or Valdigue.
