The Costco thread MERGED

I seriously doubt that all vintages are included…would be interesting to see what vintages were included.

I’m sure it didn’t comprise 20+ bottles but didn’t take the time to check. I posted this mostly because I was surprised to see it in a bin (under glass) at costco

God damn… I want the Insignia at that price…

I got an email offering for this box a couple of weeks ago. It is only six 750mL bottles.

I think, maybe, that it included:

1982
1986
1988
1990
1999
2000

Check your local Costco for the 2004 Haut Brion…use to be $184, now $99! Picked up the last 3 bottles(Edson, were you there already??? [wink.gif] )…and don’t know if any other stores still have any. They also have a $22 off coupon for Louis Roederer Cristal…think it gets down to about $160 per.

Standard question…how’s the 2004 HB drinkin these days?

[cheers.gif]

Hey, go back and get me a couple HB’s…I mean it!

Huh. And I’ll be driving right past a Costco tonight. Stop in order. Just in case. For research purposes.

At $99…I’d def pick up a few if my Costco didn’t completely suck

right there with ya

the ones out here in MA blow!

none here. tear.

You all know that the Novato Costco has the best wine selection of any costco. I live only a few exits away and enjoy shopping there almost any weekend day that I am not at the winery.

I may have to tease you with the availability …going to go see if any HB is there tomorrow.

which one did you go?

Novato doesn’t have any. Checked today.

I checked San Juan Capistrano and Palm Desert - no dice

None in San Diego

none in Avon, MA

A few months later…but I found you : )) Actually, I followed Tony V over here because he was one of the first people I met from the BB world. I have been spending too much time on FB and Twitter.

Well, late comment on the post. We try really hard to not let this happen to our pricing…We have a great case price in the channel for a few of our wines for “on premise-by the glass” (many of our wines are only winery direct) so we can introduce our wines to people who have never heard of it and would not likely buy it off a list…but…sometimes it ends up in places like this we did not intend for it to be…good news I guess…looks like some people tried it : ))

Thank you for all of the support.

Wish they had them at our Costco…

Don’t worry Todd, you should come to Fairfax and see all the glorious bottles of Sterling and Kendall-Jackson we have. I’d KILL to be in one of the Big Three Costco states.

Gloria… thanks for chiming in! I was one of the fortunate ones to pick up the Summit at this price point. I had never heard of Audelssa, but I recognized Erich’s name from Sojourn, so I had to give it a try. Truth be told, if someone had posted about this wine at $50, I’m sure I wouldn’t have given it a second thought. That’s not to knock your wine, it’s just that it’s impossible to try all the $50 wines out there. But I was thoroughly pleased with the Summit and a little bitter that I didn’t pick up more when I had the chance. I can understand from a business point that it’s damn near impossible to sell a bottle of wine for $50 after it’s been had for half that amount, but hopefully some of the buyers will branch out and pick up some of your other offerings.

Jeb

My understanding (at least in NY) is that Costco does not own the licenses on the East Coast. In NY, they are owned by some guy who rents space from Costco.
