The Bourbon Thread

Oh yeah, Larceny Barrel Proof coming Q1 2020, so there will be a barrel proof wheater on market targeted around $40.

Few more bourbons landing…

EH Taylor Amaranth Grain of the Gods
Elmer T Lee 100th Year Tribute
Weller Full Proof
Weller CYPB

Be on lookout!

Thanks Kris !

Crazy how Elmer just dried up around here. Used to be my go to cheap bourbon and can’t even sniff it now. Still have a couple bottles but geez I can’t even imagine how tough this one will be. Thanks for the heads up though.

Yeah ETL is nice… I like Blanton more but it’s good.

Total Wine had Elijah Craig Single Barrel 18 for $149, only two left in Fresno (was told just got off the truck)

I had the Amaranth a few weeks ago at a bar in Maine. Pretty decent/average bourbon.

Haven’t tried it yet, need to grab a sample. It’s a nontraditional Bourbon grain so not sure what to expect.

New releases of Elijah Craig 18 and 23 are inbound and since I am too lazy to scroll back Whistle Pig Samurai Scientist aged in Japanese Umeshu barrels, high tariff, but worth a try if you see it at a bar.

@Kris - will the ECs hit the shelf anywhere or disappear instantly?

Sigh, fwgs sent an email about birthday bourbon which was sold out 1 min after it was sent.

Should be able to find some at retail. I’ll take a look next week and see who’s ordered it.

My boss was generous enough to buy 2 rounds of this while we were in Nashville 2 weeks ago and it was fantastic.

Cool boss. Looking forward to trying it in next few weeks myself.

In case anyone’s interested, saw WhistlePig 18 year double malt straight rye for $299.99 and Wild Turkey Master’s Keep Cornerstone Kentucky straight rye for $139.99 at Costco. Both prices below W-S low.

ah yeah, more unattainable (at MSRP) bourbons

My thoughts exactly!

You guys that live in states where Costco can sell liquor are truly sickening. NC controls all liquor sales and what we get is paltry. If you happen to be in the store right when they get some hard to find stuff you are one of the lucky ones. My local store got three bottles of Blanton’s last week and it was snapped up in minutes of when they opened.

Costco is the reason WA has the highest liquor tax in the country. Maybe world.

I live in a state which allows Costco to sell liquor, and our Costco never has anything interesting in the distilled spirits category. Once in a blue moon a good deal on wine, but never liquor.
