Sorry to hear you didn’t have any more success with this effort than I did.
Be thankful they were not more expensive, and on to the next one

$79.99???
Agreed.
Really not a terribly good value. Even if you find the right vintage and buy on EP (like 2000), it still is only a moderately attractive buying opportunity.
Well this is very troubling. I have a couple of these along with a few Leoville Poyferre '96 sitting waiting to be opened. I was hoping they’d be ready to go and enjoyable. Now I’m almost afraid to open them.
You drank it too young.
Drink at the end of the drinking window…just drank a 1993 Chapoutier Le Pavillon…window says through 2046…wine was dead, dead dead.
I HATE ‘you drank it too young/early’ – it is like ‘you just don’t understand it’ as a defense for contemporary art.
Rubbish!
Its is amazing how different perceptions and tastes are. I have had the 96 Poyfere and it is simply outstanding everytime I have had it. Conversely, I just read a note regarding the 08 Siduri Russian River Valley Pinot where the poster had it as their wine of the night with descriptors praising its acidity and tart cherry fruit while to me it lacked acidity in a dramatic way, was hot and brown sugared with absolutely nothing tart about it. This passion really does have something for everyone doesn’t it.
