9L Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs…
Had a feeling re R Pinard . . . thanks. Jumped on Thatcher offer instead.
Not recommended. Description of my experience here:
Gonna be a party when this is opened up
WHWC new year’s sale is live:
Decent discounts on stuff, especially burgs.
Yeah so much for my vinsrare purchase this morning being the last of 2025.
Nabbed a 17 Dujac Charmes to include on 3/26.
Excellent!
I was thinking about trying one of those. Any experience with the Charmes?
Personally I’d reload the caz or get one of the bertheau Bonnes mares. Btw Whwc does have 23 millot for US low on pre arrival (suchots 189, Ge 425)
I got another bottle of the Caz and I’ve had an internal debate if I should grab the last one or get something else.
That’s a great price. 17 Bertheau Bonnes Mares and 20 Bertheau Amoureuses are both awesome serious wines at those prices, with the amoureuses having a much longer drinking window; we had that on release and it was magnificent but super tight,
Are Livex merchants a bad thing in general or just Rue Pinard? I get that you have to wait 3-4 months and pay tariffs when they arrive, but is there anything inherently bad/risky with buying wines from the livex exchange? The prices are usually pretty good.
They don’t have the wines and are essentially ordering them from the same sources once you place an order, so you run the risk of them not being able to get the wines. I’d rather buy direct from Europe, or from sellers that are more likely to actually source the wines. Some of these sellers are one man hole in the wall shops just posting lists of expensive burgundies from livex. Obviously the premier cru debacle looms large.
Chicago Wine Consulting has 2022 Volpaia CC for $12/btl. I believe it’s a call-in/local deal only. Offered via email.
Also Continuum 2018/19 $150 and 2021/22 $175. That can be purchased online.

Of all places, first bottle is offering an interesting cellar with aged bottles of Tempier single vintages for what seem like reasonable prices; there’s also a single bottle of 2000 Truchot charmes for a less reasonable price.
90s Tempier gone so fast. Le sigh
Yeah seemed like really good pricing.
Didn’t they all have a disclosure stating stained label?
If it’s from a broken bottle who really cares as we drink the wines not the labels but if it’s from leakage, that’s a different story.
