Tasting Notes on Cellar Tracker

Yes it has been covered many times but why would anyone just post a note with no descriptors of the wine or opinion and just post the WA and WS scores? I have not seen that one done yet.

Funny minute I posted this the note disappeared. Another new user with the following six notes:

“Not from JWA”

Personal reference.

Thats what I am thinking as well, I have seen some notes that say things like “drank with Mike and Cathy”,

Some people use it like a personal notebook. I am fine with that. They aren’t drinking their wine for me.

Just click on the report link and Eric clears them up.

Those types of comments are for private notes.

This precisely. There is a special field for private tasting notes and it should be used for these kinds of purposes. The field for public tasting notes should be reserved only for public tasting notes. I’ve set cellartracker up so that it shows me only scores with tasting notes, because I’m interested in what people have to say about the wines, not whether they drank it with Keith and Katie or not.

Mike and Cathy drink really well and have highly discriminating tastes. I find that the wines served to them are almost always ones I should seek out.

Keith and Katie, on the other hand …

Exactly.

It’s information!!

If you don’t know what a critic scored it, how can you score it…

As said above, please report. We clean. The vast majority of users that do this simply made a mistake or got confused between personal notes and TNs.

Possibly me and my wife Cathy. Could easily be another Mike and Cathy. I like the acknowledgement if we have drunk something special. Agree, it has no meaning to others.
