Tarlant Champagne

Being that my preference for Champagne are the ones with a low dosage, the Tarlant line has become a favorite. The Cuvée Louis is delicious, especially at its price point, but I find the less expensive offerings to be very good. The only negative is that it can be difficult to source.

I’ve been to Tarlant (2001). Nearly all of their wines are low dosage, or extra-brut. They also have a couple of zero dosage, or brut nature, bottlings.

There’s another recent thread on the use of oak in Champagne. The Louis is barrel fermented and barrel aged. The ones I’ve poured for folks have gotten mixed reactions. For my taste, there’s a little too much oak. But people have different preferences and tastes.

Me likey. Their cuvée Louis is sometimes a tad fat but I really like the tarlant zero.

Love Tarlant… Their Brut Zero and Brut Zero Rose, Vigne d Antan all great, and Brut Tradition is a great buy. They are still looking for a new importer I believe. Hope they come back soon.

Also love their wines. Benoit used to stop by in ebob. They also bottle a cuvee for Addison.

Well worth a visit if you’re in Champagne Michael. They opened the full range for me earlier this year.

Agrred. In the village of Oeuilly, west of Epernay, halfway between Epernay and Dormans.

Their late disgorgement saga cuvées are worth seeking out…
