I’m Taylor Berkley and, for 10 vintages now, I have sought out old vineyards, grown organically, on hillsides to showcase the diversity, potential, and promise of California Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Currently, T. Berkley Wines is a one-man-operation, meaning countless hours in the car and in the cellar to hand-craft ~3,000 cases annually. I sell primarily through my BLANC + FRANC Club, distribution in a few states, and via tastings at the estate I manage, Teachworth Napa Valley.

2023 Norgard Vineyard Chenin Blanc, 14% abv, 250 Cases Produced
Old vine Chenin that is foot tread, slowly pressed and settled, and fermented in a mix of concrete and French oak puncheons (30% New). Fermented with native yeasts and aged sur lie for 12 months, then in tank for 6 months prior to bottling, this is serious Chenin Blanc. Acid-driven and mineral, with just the right amount of jasmine, honeysuckle, and orange blossom. 93pts The Tasting Panel
2024 Côt Skypine Vineyard Malbec, 14% abv, 40 Cases Produced
My ode to winemaking experiments as we are always learning and refining our practices! High elevation Malbec, quasi-carbonically fermented at low temperatures with minimal extraction. CRAZY fruit presence, crunchy and delicious texture, all wrapped up in a pop-me-pour-me style of easy drinking red. Too Cool for School
2022 Singing Hills Vineyard Cabernet Franc, 15.0% abv, 200 Cases Produced
Vintage #2 for Singing Hills Vineyard shows even more promise than the first. A blast of raspberry sorbet meets cassis immediately jumps out of the glass with a touch of bouquet garni. There is a distinctly velvety texture to this wine with a bright, tart lift to the mid-palate. 2022 Thalia Vineyard Cabernet Franc, 13.0% abv, 175 Cases Produced
Notes of violets, lavender, and wild blueberry flowers with a savory wild sage and sandalwood base to the nose. The palate weight is all graphite and polished granite and beautiful tactile, slightly dusty tannins, almost like peach fuzz. All of my Single Vineyard Cab Francs are fermented in stainless steel, aged the first year in French oak (30% in 2022), and then finished in concrete for six months. What you’re tasting here is THE ONLY California project dedicated to exploring this amazing grape and how it shows across multiple sites in a single line-up. This was the thesis behind T. Berkley Wines from the start… Cab Franc got me into winemaking, and I’ve been a believer in its potential ever since.
