Sydney wine shops

I have an upcoming trip to Sydney. What are your favorite wine shops? What wines available there but not stateside would be worth hauling back?

My current favourite is Annandale Wine Cellars. Lots of quirky hard to find Australian winemakers. Only a small store, but lots of interesting wines.

The Oakbarrel

Wines worth hauling back? Depends, what are your tastes? Wendouree is probably a big favourite, although not easy to get here either for a reasonable cost unless you are on the mailing list.

Rockford Wines, Giaconda Chardy, Wild Duck Creek etc. Check out the Langtons Classification for our closest ‘1st Growth’ classification. View Wine Classification | Langton's Fine Wines

Dave, thanks for the recommendations.

I’m an omnivore when it comes to wine styles, but am only really experienced with the mass market AU/NZ wines that aren’t cultish. Do you have favorite wine bars/restaurants with good and reasonably priced selections?

Check out this thread, will give you some ideas.

If you want some Cultish producers to try, Sami Odi is a good start or Luke Lambert, Collector, Bindi, Timo Mayer. Lots to choose from.

Cheers!
