Basically a starch wash, much like adding pasta water to your sauce, is my best guess.
May try it for s&g, but not something I’d be thrilled to see at a bar, I don’t think.

One thing I like about a proper “boozy” drink is the clarity of it. Adding the cloud(ier) aspect is troublesome to me.
