So here’s the skinny. My local Costco has this on sale for five dollars a bottle with a two dollars a bottle rebate. Those of you who have followed some of my other posts know that I cannot stand my girlfriend’s family, so I wondered if this was an acceptable (not necessarily good) wine that I could serve them.
Mind you, even at $3/bottle I’d still feel like I was spending too much on them, but is it awful or…?
– Screw it, I can cook with it if need be.
The only downside is if they like it and ask you where they can get some. How many are you serving?
It’s not for any particular occasion. My significant other’s family comes over often, always thirsty and usually empty-handed. Her BIL (who is a jerk of the highest order)
and sister always start with hard alcohol before turning to wine. Just wanted to have something on hand to serve them – a cellar defender for my cellar defenders, if you will.
I bought the case. Honestly if it’s terrible, I can probably cook with it, but my guess is it will be passable for their tastes.
