375s of 2006 up for $19 on LB
Snagged a couple!
Elivette vintages on right now at Last Bottle.
I just snagged a case of the 2012 Elivette with WS 96 for $29, WAY better pricing than the winery sale!!!
I got a few, not a case. I have way too much wine.
Damn that is good. 750s of 2012 were $46 in winery sale.
and for reference, 2015-2019s were $38-40 in the winery sale
2011 mags for $69 right now
Got 2 bottles at $30 of the 18. I don’t think I got any of those. Hard to beat at that price
In for the a few of the 2012, 2007 mag, 2019, 2018. I think i’ll be turning off my phone now.
2017s are hangin around…
Looks like they did OK. According to the LB website " Every last bottle of ELIVETTE that arrived to our warehouse this week vanished".
Grammar police: it is arrived AT, not arrived TO. (Anyone from LB reading this?)
Picked up a couple 05s. Excited to try them.
Wasnt nearly the variety i had hoped for, but sure seemed like volume of the wines they did offer. Nots disappeared within 1-2minutes so hopefully folks backed up the truck. The LB prices were incredible for known wines with significant bottle age with perfect provenance.
Had bought the '16 from SMV, and picked up 6 '18 from LB. Can’t beat the LB price and dependable shipping.
Apologies if this was already covered, but I have never had Spring Mountain wines, and yesterday on Last Bottle I purchased the Red Blend Elivette:
2005 750 ml – 1 @ $39
2007 1.5L - $79
2012 750 ml – 12 @ $29 each
2015 750 ml – 2 @ $29 each
2018 750 ml— 6 @ $29 each
2019 750 ml – 6 @ $29 each
Question: is this like the deal of a lifetime?
What are peers of this wine?
What is the drinking window for these wines?
Thanks!
If you end up being a fan of the style, pretty close to deal of a lifetime. I’d compare them to Togni style Napa Cab, and they can lay down for 20 years, easily.
If you like more restrained style Napa, then yes you will be very happy. If you like blustery cassis combs, you’ll probably be disappointed.
Having had only one bottle of Spring Mountain in my life, and having gone in for over a case yesterday, I am hoping this comparator is accurate.
To me it’s not quite Togni or Dunn of years past but it leans way more that way than towards something like Schrader and other moderns with the pillow(y) fruits.
I have no question these will last 30-40 years if that’s your jam.
How can SMV keep up this momentum, I don’t believe they have ever been this relevant in a very long time.
