Oh boy… I’d hate to see that review if you had paid full price!
My tasting level does not approach the expertise of some of the more gifted ones here. So sorry.
I wasn’t expecting any level of tasting note in the least.
I just found “not bad at all” for a mere moment questioning if I made the correct decision to buy a case @$40 per.
I’m disappointed in my purchases at $40 if my personal note is kind of a shrug.
It wasn’t a poke at your impression/note, my apologies if it came
Off that way
I’ll have my own case this weekend and might just agree. Though I hope not.
(Thinking about it though…in the right tone I could also see that as a super positive phrase. That is if I could also see the smile on your face)
Spoke to SMV. Said wine shipping to Texas was still on a Fall hold.
Ugh, they finally shipped my two order (to PA) and of course we’re getting a major heat wave on the day it’s supposed to arrive.
100% the wine is going to be cooked by the time I get it on Monday.
Also received shipping notice (to MA) this morning via UPS. Sigh. Is there any temp control on the trucks (not just a few “ice packs”) prior to the package arriving at my local access point? I can’t recall if that was mentioned. Thanks.
You’ll be fine. I’m also in PA and just received my first few shipments (with more arriving in coming days). The boxes will arrive oversized and floppy (weird)…but fully insulated with an ice pack included. Bottles were still cool to the touch.
It is not temperature controlled shipping. Basic ground. I did speak to them on this subject.
Same here - mine arrived in CT yesterday - fully insulated box with an ice pack
Feels irresponsible regarless of ice pack or not, still couldnt be a worse week to ship to east coast. Hopefully they will make it right if it arrives cooked.
Received shipping notification surprisingly this AM.
18 and 19s for me as who thinks buying 15 year old wines and shipping them is a great idea regardless of the discount LOL.
This whole shipping discussion of wine reminds me of DeNegoce back in the day.
So much “whining” about procuring discounted “wine” from thousands of miles away with “hot” weather most of the year.
Americana at its worst, but normal as fuck as this is not Italy or France LOL.

There were numerous confirmations with them that they would hold for cooler weather.
Mine are all apparently on weather hold (until a random ship notification shows up). Just sympathizing with those on east coast that have gotten shipping notification.
This is frustrating.
Wait all this long for them to ship it and what are the chances they do it the week of the apocalypse?
in any case, I had them hold the package at the nearest Fedex location to the Fedex hub. Hoping it doesn’t get cooked on the way to the hub from CA.
80% off your mental state for this order and shipment during a heat wave
in my defense, It was like 60 degrees here when I ordered. I didn’t think they would take 3 weeks to ship.
In hindsight, should’ve just done Oct hold but seeing the issues that people are having with that in this thread…
Received today in NYC - insulated box with gel pack, wine slightly cool to the touch.
I don’t think anyone expected a clusterpluck with logistics but I can’t even imagine how many orders they had to process at once.
Didn’t get so lucky here.
Order multiples cases, multiple magnums. Shipped to
Illinois arrived yesterday. No ice packs, corks risen above the bottles. Seepage in shipping box.
Had been a member of smv wine club for 10 years. Many visits. Hoping they will make it right, but no response through email currently.
Make sure to email the concierge email, thats gotten quicker responses. Ingot quick responses both times i reached out. No icepack or anything? Wow
Ugh, sorry your dealing with it. I’m Illinois too and my first shipment arrives tomorrow. I was feeling optimistic with the talk of ice packs, but now… ![]()
