Some TNs by Seth Kunin on his wines

As suggested by Robert Alfert, Jr. on the obit thread, a great tribute one could pay to a dear friend winemaker is to post some notes on their wines. Since all of the notes I have are for wines no longer available and that Seth was very adept in describing his own wines clearly and succinctly, I chose to copy some of his reviews about a few of his current releases from his website.

Kunin Wines McGinley Sauvignon Blanc 2015
A refreshing Sauvignon Blanc layered with tropical fruit, minerals and zesty acidity.

Kunin Wines Pape Star Blonde 2015
A versatile white Rhône blend brimming with exotic aromas and richness.

Kunin Wines Natural Chenin Blanc 2014
A completely natural Chenin Blanc from 30+ year old vines, it’s wild and pure with a clean finish.

Kunin Wines Late Harvest Viognier 2013 (375ml)
Brimming with aromas of peach blossoms and gardenia, our dessert wine is a bright and refreshing way to end a meal.

Kunin Wines Pape Star 2015
A food-friendly Southern Rhône red blend that shines with enticing notes of fresh fruit and earth.

Kunin Wines SBC Syrah 2015
An approachable blend of our favorite Syrah vineyards in Santa Barbara County.

Kunin Wines Amador County Zinfandel 2015
A bright and savory Zinfandel sourced from 50+ year old vines — not your typical style of Zinfandel!

RIP my friend.

Thanks, Blake. Didn’t know that Seth was making an Amador Zin. Any idea who’s vnyd up there?
Sounds like an interesting rendition of Zin.

Do you know anything about the status of his '17 wines? Somebody watching over those?
Tom

Got it, Blake. Just saw your post below.
Tom

His wines are being watched over by his asst. winemaker, along with Drake Whitcraft, Raj Parr, and a few others . . .

The few others include Graham Tatomer and Josh Klapper. The Celebration of Life will be held at the Larmer Vineyard.

It is actually taking place at the larner vineyard, my friend.

Thanks Larry- spaced it.
