Drinking beautifully now. Lots of cherry, spice, earth and a little orange zest. Super qpr at $16 a few years ago. -

Fantastic wine drinking very well. Got the rubber, petrol, ripe citrus with honey and a decent acidic kick to keep it fresh. Love it. -
2008 Domaine Talmard Mâcon-Chardonnay - France, Burgundy, Mâconnais, Mâcon-Chardonnay (4/7/2011)
A go to midweek chardonnay around our house. This is the first of 18 bottles to be a let down. Had the burgundy funk on nose and most of the good stuff on palate but was a lot rounder with little or no cut. Might be a crowd pleaser but I miss the snap. Not sure if it is time to drink up or victim of screwcap. -

Love this wine. Very rich with a nice acidic spine. Very clean and delicious. -
2005 Château Les Grands Maréchaux - France, Bordeaux, Côtes de Blaye, Premières Côtes de Blaye (4/6/2011)
Slightly corked but plowed through with it. After about 60 minutes improved and was a very nice wine. Has all of the components of a winner and a qpr to boot. Glad I didnt dump down drain. Yes it is a little modern, but in a very delicious way with nice dark fruit and plenty of power. Obvious it came from a good year in Bordeaux. -
2009 Badge Chardonnay Blue Steel Sierra Madre Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Rita Hills - Sta. Rita Hills (3/29/2011)
P & P’ed on night one and was very crisp, steely and pleasant enough. Vacuvined and let sit in fridge for 5 days and finally got around to trying again. Wow, this is a good wine, held up and actually got a little softer, rounder and was a pleasure to consume. Very nice. -
2000 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve - USA, California, Napa Valley (3/24/2011)
A little intense tonight. Should have decanted. Almost painful and takes away from the goodness that is underneath. -
2005 Yannick Pelletier Saint-Chinian L’Engoulevent - France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Saint-Chinian (3/22/2011)
Pop and let sit open for 30 minutes. Incredible nose. Dark fruit, forest floor, fennel, black pepper, just great. Not quite as good on palate but no slouch either. Medium bodied with no rough edges and hard to put down. Try second half of bottle tomorrow.
