Soave and Franciacorta

I am planning a trip to Verona in May, and I’d like some recommendations for wineries in Soave and Franciacorta that offer more than just a standard trial (I already have Valpolicella in hand). In Soave, I’d like to be able to taste some Superiore and Recioto, back vintages even better. In Franciacorta, I’d also be interested in back vintages as well as anything good that you can’t really get in the US. I don’t see the point of traveling to wine country just to taste what you can get at home. Sadly, I don’t speak Italian. We will have our own car. Any recommendations y’all have would be welcome. Thanks!

you may be asking for a bit much, most tastings are pretty standard with the ability to purchase library wines, you’ll need someone like an importer or distributor who has a personal relationship if you want something special

I’m definitely going to go that route for some, but not all wineries even have websites. Sometimes, IYKYK.

I emailed Quintarelli and was shocked when I got an appointment and I think a trip there is absolutely worth it if you’re near Verona, especially if you plan on buying wine because the prices are substantially less than stateside as opposed to other iconic Italian producers

I’ve been twice. It’s on my itinerary.

Be sure to factor in shipping costs.

packed them in our checked luggage and then checked our carry ons, worked well

Bro we paid 24 Euros a bottle for primofiore my first time there; we bought a literal case at that price and had it shipped, still came out way ahead.
