My wife and I have a dinner reservation at Single Thread. We are staying at a friends’ place at Mayacama Golf Course. We will have a rental car but would appreciate suggestions on how best to get to and from the restaurant since we don’t want to drive. I know that Uber is not particularly reliable. I would appreciate advice.
Are you planning to open several bottles? We usually just drive to dinner unless it’s a wine dinner with lots of bottles.
Maybe a little complicated, but drive there, take Lyft or Uber back (ask if you can leave the car, which should be OK). No risk of being late for the reservation, and dawdling a bit waiting for Lyft or Uber to pick you up there is not the worst thing.
Ditto for Lyft or Uber back in the morning.
Another option (albeit a little more expensive) is to just stay in Healdsburg for the night. There’s a few nice AirBnBs, B&Bs and boutique hotels just within a block or two. Can extend the special evening to a full day. My wife and I love that area so I may be biased. Might be a good excuse to opt-in for the farm visit too (assuming they are still doing that).
I think this is a really good idea. Everything out there is FAR from each other. Would be so much nicer to be able to walk back somewhere after such a monster meal rather than spending like an hour in the car, regardless of who is driving
Well, I learned there’s a golf course up in the hills!
I would contact the restaurant, I bet they have transportation options, or at least will know if uber is a good option that time of night. I would guess they deal with this a lot.
It’s only a 20 minute drive.
Just contact Singlethread, as Singlethread suggests here.
Dinner there is spectacular. The farm tour is interesting, too, and you’ll visit the plants you saw at the previous day’s dinner.
