Oh - and the prices were all WAY too high, which is one of a few reasons I never buy wine there…
The negociants were probably so shocked that someone actually wanted to sell the vintage, that they carried it to Bevmo themselves.

It makes total sense to put the 07s on the market as quickly as possible. The window of time within which to sell these wines is extremely short with the EP campaign for 09 on the horizon. The supply chain obviously wants these wines “out there” as long as possible to have any chance at all of selling.
I can’t speak on the pricing policy of BevMo, but I imagine there will be some price slashing on those 07s over the next year with more, extreme discounts once the 09s ship. They’re probably trying to make hay now with high prices to offset the virtually guaranteed price reductions in the future.
