Grand Hyatt SFO is most convenient as it is on Air Train line. A stop or two from rental car center, so no car required to get there. Either find food at airport when get in or the restaurant there is not bad. When we don’t do that, we stay at Hyatt Regency, about 8 minutes from airport, but can’t help on food near there.
Have been but GH SFO is supposed to be one of the best airport hotels in US and charges accordingly.
I’m guessing you aren’t planning to stay in city if you are renting a car. I just Uber into the city no matter what the hour if I’m staying in the city. Once you are in an Uber, probably only 15-20 minutes more into the city than the Hyatt Regency (not the GH)..
Glen - I stay a few times a year at SFO hotels. All I want is a bed for the night, clean and close. All the Holiday Inns (I am IHG trapped) and other chain properties are just fine, and all have shuttles that run regularly to/from the terminals. There is good Chinese in Milbrae etc. a short Uber away.
