Seeking suggestions for full bodied white wines

Hi everyone- Not sure why, but I’ve found myself wanting some full white wines. Maybe it’s all the Chablis, Champagne, and Kabinetts I’ve been drinking, which is usually the style I prefer. But I’m looking to change it up. Curious what you all enjoy- happy to hear about all regions and price points.

Thanks!
Noah

Liquid Farm La Hermana Chardonnay, or Golden Slope Chardonnay. They will scratch both itches.

Omg I lol’ed when reading this thread title - my wife LOVES to use the term ‘full bodied’ when describing what she loves in a Chardonnay, and I typically scold her over it. You have redeemed her.

Southern Rhône- Try chateau de Beaucastel Blanc and their VV. Might just dp the drink!

Jamet Côtes du Rhônes blanc … floral, waxy, melony and full without being squishy or dull.

A good change of pace wine …

Jura?

I think the California Chardonnays that are medium to bigger boned but still really good include

Ramey
Ridge
Kistler
Kosta Browne
Sea Smoke
Cobb
Hartford

In Burgundy, maybe look at bigger vintages like 2015 and 2016.

I guess there is the Rhône but I struggle to find white wines I like from there.

Those attributes are often in Condrieu. There are plenty of big California Chard’s in the Aubert mold / style that ought to work too. MacArthurs might have some older Hermitage blanc which seem to get heavier as time goes on too…but that’s above my wallet’s altitude!

A couple of things full bodied and a bit different that I’ve had recently include the David & Nadia Aristargos from South Africa, a blend of ~50% chenin blanc plus 8 other grapes making up the other 50%. Also San Marzano Edda Bianco, a chardonnay dominated blend from Italy.

I’ll throw my hat in the ring - try my Roussanne, Marsanne or my Verbiage Blanc blend . . .

Plenty of Italian whites would fit the bill. Fiano di Avellino often has a nice full, round mouthfeel, but without getting cloying.

To pick one I’ve been enjoying a few of recently: 2019 Villa Raiano Fiano di Avellino Ventidue. Not sure if that makes it across the pond though.

Def agree on the Beaucsstel Rousanne VV.

Many SA Chenin Blancs or Chenin-Semillon blends, Alheit, Mullineux, Sarah Rail, Radford Dale etc (see other threads). Also Hamilton Russel Chard from SA.

Dageneau SB from Loire. Zinc Humbrecht Riesling etc from Alsace but sweetness a bit of a lottery.

What a superb idea to branch out a bit with her. Chardonnay is a natural choice here. Going in a different direction, the Rhône varietal Viognier will takes me into more aromatic, floral stone fruit with medium-to-full body. You might get a bottle or two and aim for warm climate producer if she likes wine a little drier. Have fun!

I was just in Italy and really enjoyed some of the Trebbianos, full bodied but more similar in flavor profile to Chardonnay relative to some of the other ideas given here.
