A friend of mine is going to be in Colmar this fall and asked if anyone could recommend a private wine tour, either with a driver or on bikes (I would presume/hope a bike tour would not be too tasting focused).
I searched around but wasn’t able to find anything here. He said he had a few ideas from internet searches but the looked pretty commercial.
Interested in information as well.
By my estimate, originating from Colmar, a sprawling mix of modern and old/historic center could be a strength-and-stress-busting cycling project to get to the wineries that are usually outside of town. The town of Eguishem with good wineries was the closest that I’ve driven to from Colmar and I suspect it’s only about 25 minutes of pedaling.
For me, starting from one major wine town (Riquewihr - Hugel, Dopff, etc)) to cycle to the other (Ribeauville - Trimbach, et al)) would be the more scenic and less stressful where bicycle paths cuts pretty hillside vineyards. Will also note that the wine-route towns are within the Vosges mountain range and steep hills are more than frequent, at least when I drove from town to town.
