Secret of English muffin 'nooks & crannies' safe for now

I recall the shock of moving to Seattle in 1990 and finding that Thomas’ English Muffins did not make it that far west. Friends back east would mail them in care packages or bring some on visits. Eventually this cornerstone of civilization did arrive on the Pacific coast.

Now they are embroiled in a food fight…

A former food-industry executive armed with the secret to the “nooks and crannies” in Thomas’ English Muffins displayed “suspicious conduct” before his planned move to rival Hostess, a U.S. appeals court said in upholding a ban on the move.

Thomas’ parent company is Bimbo Bakeries? I might have re-thought that one

we go to an excellent authentic local Mexican restaurant where sometimes the waitresses are wearing shirts advertising Bimbo, a large bakery concern. In this particular case, with some of these servers, it’s quite appropriate.

When i was in Mexico, there was a sign, I have a photo somewhere, for “Bimbo Box Lunch”! I almost wet myself I was laughing so hard!

I would pay for a print of that shot! [rofl.gif]

Grupo Bimbo (pronounced Beembo) is also the baker of Oroweat/Arnold as well as Boboli and Entenmann’s. They’re a HUGE bakery concern based in Mexico City, currently the largest bakery company in the US and fifth-largest food company in the world. They introduced sliced bread to Spain in the 60s.

I wonder what “best thing” was there before they did that!!!
